Percussionist and drummer Joshua Alderete was born and raised in Pasadena, Texas. He has worked as a freelance musician in the greater San Antonio area for the last 7 years, but has been playing for over fifteen years in various ensembles.
The Fellowship was born from Alderete’s vision of a community of gifted friends that share a love for music. This group was founded in San Marcos, Texas, but it now calls San Antonio home. The Fellowship is Gerardo Espinoza (Tenor Saxophone), Michael Perez (Acoustic/Electric Bass), Damian García (Piano) and Joshua Alderete (Bandleader/Drumset). Their sound is influenced by all eras of jazz music, and their mission is to bring peace and unity, by the gift of music, to the world.
