Jacob Martinez is a trombonist who was born and raised in Austin, Texas. He first started playing jazz at Lamar Middle School under the direction of James Hairston. While there, he performed with the Lamar Jazz Factory at the 69th Annual Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago. He then became a jazz major at McCallum Fine Arts Academy under the direction of Carol Nelson. While there, he studied with Wayne Myers and Joe Morales. While in High School, he performed with the 2018 and 2019 5A Symphonic Band, the 6A Symphony Orchestra, and the TMEA Jazz Ensemble 1. Jacob is now a junior at the University of Texas at Austin where he is studying with Paul Deemer.

Originally from San Antonio, Tx, Gene Centeno is a professional saxophonist and music educator from Austin, Tx. He obtained his Bachelors Degree in Jazz Saxophone Performance from Texas State University. He has performed and recorded with many artists locally and nationally, such as, Grammy Award Winning - Grupo Fantasma, The Latin Players, Andre Hayward, Greg Boyer, The Temptations, Prince, Maceo Parker, Sheila E and many others. Currently, Gene fulfills a music education role as a Jazz Studies Graduate Teaching Assistant at The University of Texas at Austin’s Butler School Of Music. He takes part in Austin’s rich musical environment and is proud to be a Doctoral Jazz Student and Teaching Assistant at the University of Texas at Austin, Butler School Of Music.


Santana Rojas is an in-demand Freelance Trumpeter and Private Instructor in Austin, Texas, and its surrounding areas. Santana Rojas is a highly dependable call inside and out of state. Santana has performed toured and studio-recorded styles/genres such as Jazz, Funk, Indie, Pop, Classical, Salsa, and Country. Although young in his performing career, Santana has shared the bandstand with Grammy Award-winning artists such as Gerald Clayton and Bryan Carter. Jazz Luminaries such as Andre Hayward, Rodney Whitaker, Terell Stafford, Christian Sands, Immanuel Wilkins, Mathis Picard, Dan Chmielinski, and Diego Rivera. Local Austin heroes such as Christian Wigs, Mike Sailors, John Mills, Paul Deemur, and Daniel Dufour.

Santana is currently an undergraduate student at UT Austin’s Butler School of Music in the process of getting his Jazz Performance degree. During his time attending UT in just his 1st year, he was awarded the “Chuckii Booker Scholarship” given to Jazz Performance majors at the Butler School of Music every other year. Then in his 2nd year, he was awarded the “Eleanor Alexander Stripling Award of Excellence” offered to undergraduates at the Butler School of Music once per year. You can hear Santana’s latest studio projects in Steve Carlson and Jensen Ackles’s recent #1 Country Album entitled “Keep on Ramblin”.

Dan Thomas is an up and coming saxophonist and composer based in the Austin area. He began playing bassoon at age 11 before switching over to saxophone full time at the Butler School of Music at UT Austin, studying under professors John Mills and Diego Rivera. During his time at the University, Thomas has performed regularly as both an in-demand sideman as well as a bandleader. He has been fortunate enough to connect with many incredible musicians already, having shared the bandstand with artists such as Terell Stafford, Terence Blanchard, Carl Allen, Rodney Whitaker, Andre Hayward, Chad LB, Steven Feifke, Danny Jonokuchi, Martina DaSilva, Dan Chmielinksi and Mike Sailors. Thomas is also set to record his debut Album in summer 2024.
