Dan Bui - Mandolin & Vocals

Anh Phung - Flute & Vocals

Chris Sartori - Bass & Vocals

Praised by National Public Radio for their "upbeat, poppy vibe; energetic, driving rhythms; and virtuosic solos,” Twisted Pine [Boston] takes traditional music in exhilarating directions. "We’re rooted in bluegrass," writes bassist Chris Sartori, "continually inspired by explorers like Bela Fleck, Jerry Douglas, and Sierra Hull. Our bluegrass is jazzy, our indie folk is poppy, our grooves are funky."  Twisted Pine is Kathleen Parks on fiddle and lead vocals, Dan Bui on mandolin, Sartori on bass, and Anh Phung on flute. They all sing. You may have seen Twisted Pine last summer at Old Settlers Music Festival. They play a wide range of festivals and venues, from Philly Folk and Telluride Bluegrass to Toronto Jazz, Rochester International Jazz, and the cruise festival Cayamo, voted on board by fans. Their latest release is the cosmic full-length Right Now [2020, Signature Sounds Recordings], which The Boston Herald called "progressive bluegrass or maybe chamber folk, or prog rock, or jazz fusion or just pop with an experimental bent ... " The band in this studio this month recording toward their Fall 2024 release.

"Definitely a band to watch" -- NPR

“Instrumental virtuosity — the band’s calling card — abounds on their latest album, Right Now, but so too do moments of sheer pop glory, funky all-day grooves, and spacecraft sonics.” -- No Depression

“Each member of this band is a runaway freight train of talent on their own, but together the jubilance of sound they unleash on a crowd is something to be marvelled.” -- Red Line Roots

"They were once bluegrass," wrote The Boston Globe, "but ... this Boston band has become something else, a wider version of string band, boundary jumpers akin to outfits like Punch Brothers, Nickel Creek, and Crooked Still.”
