Ben Irom - Piano

Alex Bilodeau - Double Bass

Jacob Duncan - Alto Saxophone

Norm Bergeron is from a small New England milltown and cut his teeth at the University of North Texas. For the last decade he has served as the Director of Percussion Studies at Temple College/Central Texas A&M facilitating various courses in Ethnomusicology, Percussion Methods, Audio Engineering, American Music, and Humanities. As a performer, he divides his time between drumset, with groups like John Mills Times Ten, the Don Cento Trio, the Temple Jazz Orchestra, and his own Quicktet, and Afro-Cuban percussion, with Jazz PR.

This performance is a homecoming of sorts, reuniting Norm with his college friend and bandmate, Jacob Duncan. Jacob, saxophonist with artists as varied as Nora Jones, Aretha Franklin, Rachel Grimes, and the Violent Femmes, is a bold, passionate, and imaginative performer and activist living in Louisville, KY. Nearly 30 years ago Norm and Jacob performed regularly as members of Little Jack Melody and His Young Turks. They are featured performers on Mike Davis’ 2013 album Anonymous.
