Gene Centeno | Originally from San Antonio, Tx, Gene Centeno is a professional saxophonist and music educator based out of Austin, Tx. Gene has performed and recorded with many artists locally and nationally, such as Grammy Award Winning - Grupo Fantasma, The Latin Players, Andre Hayward, Ed Calle, Greg Boyer, The Temptations, Prince, Maceo Parker, Sheila E, Mike Phillips, Aubrey Logan and many others. Currently Gene is amidst earning a Doctoral of Musical Arts in Jazz Studies at The University of Texas at Austin. He also fulfills a music education role as the Jazz Studies Graduate Assistant Instructor at The University of Texas, while taking part in Austin’s rich and diverse musical community and environment.

Julie Slim & Rendezvous | A multilingual jazz and world music vocalist originally from Beirut, Lebanon, Julie Slim brings forth the cultural influences that shape her life in her musical project, Julie Slim & RendezVous, which is approaching its 10th year performing in Austin and surrounding cities. With the support and mentorship of Austin iconic pianist, educator and arranger, Dr. James Polk, and the collaboration of stellar jazz musicians and friends over the years, the band has grown from covering French pop and jazz standards to include Arabic and Spanish standards as well as originals - one of which, Sarabande de Solitude (Shawn Ellison/Julie Slim), was awarded an Honorary Merit Award in the 2017 International Songwriting Competition and was featured in the 2017 SXSW Songwriters Showcase. Throughout the last 9 years, Julie Slim has held residencies at the Skylark Lounge, Parker Jazz Club, and most recently at Shore ATX and Plate by Dzintra, where she currently plays as a duo twice a month with pianist Shawn Ellison.

The Austin Django Project | Lead by Jamey Cummins, The Austin Django Project is a collective of Austin-based guitarists and string players. Honoring one of the greatest to ever do it, the collective brings to life the inspired work of the father of Gypsy Jazz, Django Reinhardt.

Please Note: This is a live-taping, so we'll be enforcing a whisper-policy! Cold bottles of still and sparkling water will be available for purchase, but this event is BYOB. Ice will be available if needed, wine keys and 9oz cups provided! 22 free parking spaces onsite are first-come-first-serve.
